ON BLACK AND BLUE

ON BLACK AND BLUE THE GREAT BIRD RISES,
FLEET OF WING AND DEADLY SURPRISES.
A SHADOW SOARING UPON THE GROUND,
FREE OF RESTRICTION AND SO UNBOUND.

OVER HILLS SO HIGH AND VALLEYS LOW,
FAITH IN THE WINDS ON WHICH TO FLOW.
EXTENDS THOSE WINGS FROM TIP TO TIP,
CATCHES A BREEZE LIKE A SAILING SHIP.

GLIDING THE SKIES SO BRIGHT AND BLUE,
SUN STRAIGHT ABOVE, THE MOON IS NEW.
CATCH THE HORIZON ON A SUMMER’S DAY,
WAITING FOR AUTUMM TO SHOW THE WAY.

THE SUN REACHES OUT TO KISS THE EARTH,
EVENING WILL FALL, THE STARS GIVE BIRTH.
INTO THE NIGHT AND THE GREAT UNKOWN,
HEARD THE CALL OF THE MOUNTAIN STONE.

ON BLACK AND BLUE THE GREAT BIRD RISES,
FLEET OF WING AND LORD OF DISGUISES.
A SHADOW UNSEEN, IT CANNOT BE FOUND,
FREE OF RESTRICTION TO TAKE YOU DOWN.

Your poem soars like an eagle and flits like a sparrow.
Nicely penned.
